Mr. Clarence “Shorty” Mack Guthrie Jr., 81, of Jasper, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at his residence. Freeman Hood Funeral Services has been entrusted with his care.

Mr. Guthrie is preceded in death by his father Clarence Mack Guthrie Sr.; mother Lillie Mae Brown Guthrie; granddaughters Crystal Freeman and Michelle Robinson; grandson Brandon Holt; great granddaughter McKenna Redmill; brothers Jerry Guthrie, Kenny Guthrie, Travis Guthrie, and Thomas Guthrie; and sisters Charlene Guthrie and Patsy Silvey.

He is survived by his wife Gladys Guthrie; daughters Mary Tidwell (Mike), Cynthia Hale (Jamie), and Tammy Jo Franklin; son Mike Guthrie (Shelia); sisters Ethelrene Silvey and Darlene Shelton; brother Jimmy Guthrie; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
