Mrs. Melissa F. Godsey, 65, of Jasper, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Walker Baptist Medical Center. Freeman Hood Funeral Services has been entrusted with her care.

Mrs. Godsey is preceded in death by her father James Junior Taylor; mother Emmie Joyce Taylor; daughter Emmie Lou Godsey; and 3 brothers.

She is survived by her husband Alfred Godsey; daughter Joyce Brand (Donnie); son James Godsey (Kristina); sister Teresa Bailey; brother Johnny Taylor; and grandchildren Courtney brand, Susan Godsey, and Judson Brand.

Services: Visitation will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the Sam Hood Memorial Chapel, with funeral services following at 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery. James Grace will officiate.
