Richard Earl Smith, 75, of Jasper, passed away peacefully on Thursday November 3, 2022, at his residence. 

Richard had a tremendous love of all animals and his grandchildren; they were his world.  He enjoyed traveling and driving a semi.  He was an Air Force Veteran and served in the Presidential Honor Guard. 

The family will receive friends Thursday November 10, 2022,  at 10:00 AM.  A memorial service with military honors will follow at 11:00 AM.  Juanita Davis will officiate. 

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his father Richard Harrison Smith; mother Elsie Shuff Smith; sisters Marilyn Elaine Barnett & Dorita Ann Phelps; and grandparents George & Flossie Smith and George & Frances Shuff. 

He is survived by his granddaughters Kasey Sparks (who is more like a daughter) & her husband Tyson and Jesse Millbern & her husband Andrew; sister Kay Eubanks; brother Ray Smith & his wife Shelli; niece Callie Elaine Phelps; and 6 great-grandchildren.
